Smooth and hydrate dry skin with quality products and remedies

Do you suffer from dry, itchy skin or have some dry spots you'd like to smooth over? A good moisturizer and some helpful cleansing habits can bring your skin back to a healthy glow.

Dry skin can be caused by a number of things: outside elements such as cold and windy weather, vitamin deficiencies, and genetics. When cleaning, try to avoid hot water, and don't wash your face with soap more than once or twice a day. Gently cleaning with a cool cloth throughout the day will help stimulate pores. Massaging creams and moisturizers into your skin will also help add needed moisture and the massaging will stimulate oil glands to help your skin naturally hydrate.

Recipe for Baby-Smooth Elbows and Knees

Do your elbows and knees resemble elephant's skin more than a baby's bottom? Do they crackle and sometimes feel painful or unsightly? Don't fear, all you need is this extra T.L.C recipe to cure the those bothersome-skin blues:

First take 1 gentle cleansing cloth. Start by simply wiping clean the skin on dry elbows and knees with a damp washcloth or cleansing towelette. Try to find one with thick cotton for extra comfort.

Next take 2 teaspoons of salt or sugar based shower scrub. I found one I really enjoy that is made from sugar and fruit extracts. With a soft towel, massage knees and elbows with a shower scrub using a gentle circular motion, never being too abrasive on the skin.

Next take 1 more cleansing cloth. Wipe clean with a fresh, damp, cool washcloth or another disposable cleansing wipe.

Finally take 4-8 drops of body oil. Dab a drop or two of body oil onto each elbow and knee and deeply massage into thankful skin. Skin on these areas are thing and particularly prone to dehydration, so this treatment should be used often!
